Solid wood E8 in the pull-out version by Zeitraum by Green Living

The E8 LONGUE extends the standard E8 table with a pull-out option. When closed, the extension possibility of the slender table is not visible. A few simple steps allow the tabletop to be extended by two seats.

The tabletop and the extension leaf are made from one piece and then divided. The continuous wood grain and the symmetry of the distinctive edge profile create a dynamic yet harmonious overall impression.

The pull-out runners move on a metal rail embedded in the underside of the top. This innovative solution allows the solid wood to swell and shrink naturally without impairing the table's pull-out function. The development of the E8 LONGUE is a consistent translation of the classic pull-out mechanism of solid wood tables into the possibilities of precise manufacturing with a 5-axis CNC milling machine.

Without drawing attention to itself, the table combines craftsmanship and pure functionality.

Color stain

With stains, the natural structure of the wood remains visible. This was particularly important for ZEITRAUM, as the furniture pieces are unique due to the natural grain and play of colors in the wood. The typical semi-transparent appearance of the color stain ensures this remains. ZEITRAUM invests a lot of effort in the surface treatment, which requires artisanal finesse and cannot be applied automatically. Many individual steps of sanding, wetting, drying, staining, and re-drying lead to the perfect end result, which is extremely durable. The microstructure of the wood is grainy, making the stained wood appear naturally matte and capable of developing a patina despite its coloring.
