Colored Stain

With stains, the natural structure of the wood remains visible. This was particularly important for ZEITRAUM, as the furniture pieces are unique due to the natural grain and color play of the wood. This is preserved through the typical semi-transparent look of the colored stain. ZEITRAUM puts a lot of effort into surface treatment, which requires artisanal skill and cannot be applied automatically. Many individual work steps of sanding, wetting, drying, staining, and re-drying lead to the perfect end result, which is extremely durable. The microstructure of the wood is grainy, which makes the stained wood appear naturally matte and capable of developing a patina despite its coloring.
