Color stain

With stains, the natural structure of the wood remains visible. This was particularly important for ZEITRAUM, as the furniture pieces are unique due to the natural grain and play of colors in the wood. The typical semi-transparent appearance of the color stain ensures this remains. ZEITRAUM puts a lot of effort into surface treatment, which requires artisanal skill and cannot be applied automatically. Many individual steps of sanding, wetting, drying, staining, and re-drying lead to the perfect final result, which is extremely durable. The microstructure of the wood is granular, making the stained wood appear naturally matte and capable of developing a patina despite its coloring.
