It was industry and marketing that tried to teach us that furniture is subject to short-lived trends and therefore it wouldn't make sense to build elaborate furniture with valuable materials—and, of course, not to pay much for it.
We absolutely do not share this view. Look at the details of these beautiful coffee tables! If even additions like these small tables are built with such high quality and timelessness as by Zeitraum, then these marketing slogans don't apply. Then we are talking about sustainability in the best sense, about durability and a low carbon footprint. KUYU – polished diamonds made of solid wood.
Inspired and abstracted from African masks, precisely sculpted table legs were created. Archaically, they shoulder the tabletop. The polished diamonds of solid wood appear sculpturally powerful and at the same time seemingly floating.
The four archetypal shapes of the tabletop invite a geometric play: triangle, circle, rectangle, and freeform take over the design of the space. Due to the two heights, different forms can be combined and exciting formations can be created with overlaps.
KUYU stands as a large lounge table in the living room in combination with a sofa or armchairs. In the foyer of a hotel and in the lounge area of a restaurant, it creates a center of tranquility.
