Sleeping comfort: Soft children's bones need a firm mattress

In early childhood, little ones' flexible bones need good support during sleep. In addition, a firmer mattress also protects the delicate joints that are stressed when walking, jumping, or climbing in bed – and could easily buckle on a mattress that is too soft.

The sleeping surface of the Lacuna Cocolana mattress is resiliently firm. The coconut latex springs vertically along the sleeping surface, while it is rigid horizontally. Due to its stiff sides, the mattress also seals very well with the bed frame, thus preventing knee or arm joints from slipping between the bed frame and the mattress.

Sleep climate: Natural materials for a warm, dry climate

The latexed coconut core ensures good ventilation and heat regulation inside. The core is covered on both sides with either a wool or cotton-linen cover. These materials are also naturally very air-permeable, heat-retaining, and moisture-regulating.

Cover: Choice of virgin sheep's wool or cotton-linen

Between the mattress core and the outer cover is a layer made of either virgin sheep's wool or a plant-based cotton-linen blend. The wool cover is generally a little warmer and softer than the cotton-linen blend. We also recommend the cotton-linen blend for allergies and sensitive skin.
