BASIC Natural Mattress System

The BASIC natural mattress system combines a slatted frame and a mattress in one product. This means that the four elements, the insert frame, the Basic element, the natural latex mattress, and the wool underbed, are components of the mattress system.

For your order, select the desired mattress size and the thickness of the natural latex. You will receive the complete BASIC system and will not need an additional slatted frame.

Together with preventive medicine, DORMO NOVO has developed a bed system that incorporates findings from modern sleep medicine. Particular attention was paid to optimal pressure distribution, individual adjustability, a simple material composition, and the processing of ecological materials for both a healthy sleeping environment and a healthy environment.

The BASIC bed system with a natural latex thickness of 7.5 cm is best suited for children and adolescents or for very light individuals (up to 50 kg) who prefer a firm sleeping surface (futon sleepers) or as a guest bed. The BASIC bed system with a natural latex thickness of 10 cm also offers sufficient comfort for individuals with a body weight over 50 kg. We recommend ordering the BASIC element with a thicker natural latex variant (7.5 cm or 10 cm) for optimal comfort.

Construction & Material

The BASIC bed system consists of several elements:

The insert frame forms the stable foundation of the bed system. It is made of untreated spruce wood, a local, fast-growing raw material. Two outer long rails and a central long rail with a groove serve for individual attachment of head and foot wedges. Connected with four cross rails, they form the load-bearing substructure for our DORMO NOVO system.

The BASIC element consists of three hardest-foamed 100% natural latex strips, which are covered with untreated cotton covers with zippers. These natural latex strips are connected with 40 ash wood slats.

The natural latex topper (100% natural latex) functions as a point-elastic comfort layer and is available in two different thicknesses - 7.5 cm and 10 cm. The cover made of untreated organic cotton is equipped with a three-sided zipper. The breathable and temperature-regulating natural latex is a good choice even for allergy sufferers. The natural latex can be connected to the Basic element using the zipper.

The wool underbed made of 100% pure Merino wool ensures a perfect sleeping climate and always provides a pleasantly dry, warm, and soft feeling. A tensioning strap prevents the wool underbed from slipping and ensures a visually perfect impression. The photo shows how the wool underbed connects the elements of the Basic mattress system.

Special Features

For double beds, single bed elements can be combined. To avoid an annoying gap, we recommend a continuous natural latex mattress that fits over two single bed elements. Contact us for information on double beds or extra lengths.
