The focus is on wood. Current trend analyses underscore the high demand for this naturally grown material. Without a doubt, this is related to the increasing interest in ecological materials. It should be authentic. And what is more authentic and honest than a naturally grown tree that reaches such remarkable dimensions without much human intervention?! Nevertheless, from a sustainable perspective, some aspects should not be disregarded, such as the origin of the wood and the conditions under which it is harvested.

Wood is being used in increasingly diverse ways in interior design. It no longer has to be just a smoothly sanded and lacquered surface. Rough, splintered, and flawed textures embody the mentioned authenticity of the material and are therefore increasingly being used. Even tree bark, a waste product of the timber industry, is currently being pressed into panels in a research project. These panels have special insulating properties and, at the same time, offer a unique aesthetic. But wood is also making a comeback in sports. For example, bicycle frames and even ski cores are increasingly being made from wood again.
