Brokis - A Bohemian Lighting Manufacturer
Share

The Czech luminaire manufacturer Brokis produces glass luminaires that combine exquisite design and quality out of a love for craftsmanship. In doing so, they follow in the footsteps of their ancestors, as glass craftsmanship has a long tradition in Bohemia. Thanks to their striking designs, the original collections have won numerous awards in the past. The products even received great recognition on the international design stage. What is special about the luminaires is the combination of hand-blown glass and high-quality materials, such as oak wood or metal. Brokis constantly pushes the boundaries of contemporary design. However, the luminaires are not only used in private homes but are also popular among architects. They are repeatedly used in projects such as hotels, offices, or doctor's surgeries.

The secret of Brokis luminaires
The luminaires hold a secret that is not apparent at first glance. Several processing steps are necessary for them to finally achieve their beautiful shapes. The production of a Brokis glass luminaire takes several hours. Ovens are heated to a temperature of 1200 °C so that the glass melts and can then be further processed and shaped. In the following video, we take you into the Brokis manufactory and show you the production of these beautiful glass luminaires.
